Flight Attending graduates flying high

A colleague of mine flies from one main city in NZ to another every Monday morning where I meet her at the airport and bring her into the office.
Now I already knew that a high percentage of our students leave us to start their dream career in the Travel and Tourism industry, but I think this story is pretty great.
So far, over the last five weeks, every Monday flight that my colleague has flown on has had a graduate of ours as the flight attendant and every Monday it’s a different one!
They are all loving their work, loving being in the travel and tourism industry, and LOVING seeing a familiar face on their flights (except for the embarrassing moments when my colleague is so proud of them that she claps at the end of their announcements awesome!)
Here are some of our Flight Attending students in training:

Travel Careers & Training Staff get in character

Well, 2010 is well underway…I can’t believe it’s almost the end of summer!
Before the new classes started for the year, all staff from Travel Careers & Training attended our annual conference – this year it was held at the Chateau Tongariro in the central north island of NZ… the perfect location for some fantastic activities including a Volcano Survival game and a Murder Mystery evening!
Check out these photos of some stunning outfits that our travel, tourism and flight attending tutors wore to the 1920’s themed evening …we certainly have campuses full of fun characters!

I've just discovered yet another reason why Flight Attending is a fabulous job not only to you get paid to travel the world, meet celebrities, and stay in amazing locations (all expenses paid) you also get to wear designer clothing!
I was reading an article today about Air New Zealand's new uniforms that have just been designed by Trelise Cooper!!
This prompted me to do a bit of research into other airlines did you know that Qantas uniforms are designed by fashion designer Peter Morrissey, British Airways flight crews and staff now wear uniforms designed by Givenchy, Cathay Pacific Flight Attendant uniforms are created by the Paris design house of Nina Ricci, and Christian Lacroix designs uniforms for Air France!

Here at Travel Careers & Training this time of year is always exciting, classes are filling up, nervous students are getting ready to start their studies, and our new graduates are starting their exciting jobs in the travel and tourism industry.
One of the faces of our Travel Careers & Training TV Advertisements has just got his career in the industry off to a flying start and is now a Sales Advisor at Duty Free in the Wellington International Airport, so keep an eye out for his smiley face!
If you haven’t decided what you will be doing in 2010 or have decided it’s a new year and time for a change; check out our course options and get in touch with one of our two campuses, there are still a couple of spaces left if you get in quick!

NZ – Lonely Planet’s one of the top 10 destinations to visit

I read today that NZ has once again made the top 10 lonely planet’s guide- this time as one of the top 10 Travel & Tourism destinations to visit next year and why wouldn’t we?! We live on an a beautiful island and I think we often forget that…
I’ve just recently rediscovered my love of the Coromandel with its long white sandy beaches, great surf spots, sunny bays and friendly locals – I’m already planning my xmas holidays around road trips along the coast but it wasn’t easy trying to pick a holiday spot to see in 2010.

With so many amazing tourism destinations within our reach, I would love to hear where your favorite holiday spot is and what exciting plans you have for the summer holidays…

Student Trip to Tonga

I’m so glad summer is here…fun times at the beach and lazy days in the sunshine are my fav!…
Which is why I was sooooo jealous when I heard a class from our Auckland Travel Careers & Training campus jetted off to Tonga recently!
They packed their trip full of activities and adventures around the island, did loads of hotel and resort inspections, and managed to find lots of time to swim and snorkel in the tropical waters.

Sue, their tutor overheard one of the chicks saying the trip was the most amazing thing she had ever done… just another one of us hooked on the exciting world of travel!!

Here’s some pics from their trip…
